- iaqam12December 7, 2025If you're talking gangster movies and this isn't on your list, you are missing out. Encapsulates post USSR struggles and chaos of the 90s well, it's a time capsule. Danila is a likeable protagonist and has values that are never compromised, not like most western gangster movies where it's "That's the way the game is buddy" mentality.
- Daggerhead69April 24, 2026I came to know of BRAT through my favorite video game of all time GTA IV which draws a lot of inspiration from this movie - the atmospheric and set design of the early and post soviet era movies are so refreshing - everything feels so intense and real - this movie grazes over a lot of darker themes of family and societal dynamics without being too subtle about the character development Danilla goes throughout the movie - ALONE and TIRED - the movie also had a great deal of amazing music - primarily Nautilus Pompilius - there aint much gangster movies from this era which feel this magnetizing to watch and experience - 4/5
