Borderline Ratings & Reviews
- jerrmi87January 23, 2026Nicholson is annoying as hell. Weaving is always a treat to watch. Storyline is a shambles.
- joez18December 21, 2025Surprisingly good!
- CarbonDJNovember 4, 2025A really fun black comedy. Didn't know what to expect, but really enjoyed it all. Ray Nicholson was a blast as the unhinged lead, And Samara was a great counterpoint. I'll pretty much sign up for anything she does. Great flick for something different than the usual.
- SpoonsMarch 15, 2025Ray Nicholson delivers a gloriously unhinged performance in Borderline, masterfully balancing disturbing intensity with hilariously manic energy. It’s impossible to look away—he’s magnetic, showcasing a powerful pedigree of acting talent but carving out his own distinct style separate from his iconic father, Jack Nicholson. Honestly, that alone sums up the film: familiar roots, uniquely executed. Samara Weaving brings her dependable scream queen charisma, adding depth and charm amid the chaos. Alba Baptista matches the film’s wildly unpredictable energy, standing out with her delightfully manic presence. Their duet rendition of a Celine Dion classic is a standout, both brilliant and bizarrely fun. Director Jimmy Warden’s unapologetically batshit tone feels genuinely exhilarating, offering a rare, truly original experience in an era of safe and predictable films. Paired with fantastic musical choices, Borderline stands out as a refreshingly insane entry into contemporary cinema.
- Patrick and NancyApril 1, 2025Another “So much potential” film that suffers from scenes that the director finds too precious to shorten and characters too dumb to make any sense of their actions.
- Hipster ZOMBIEMarch 15, 2025Director Jimmy Warden has cooked up one of the most deprived and entertaining dark comedies of the year. “Borderline” follows Paul Duerson (Ray Nicholson), an obsessive stalker whose delusions drive the story into chaotic and visually striking territory. Samara Weaving stars as the object of his obsession, delivering another intense performance that solidifies her as a modern scream queen for this generation. Nicholson gives a star making performance here and looks to carry on his father’s iconic legacy in film.
- pec629September 11, 2025We are all kinda crazy.... but this quy is the best of all. Black comedy with very little to remember
- rama181August 30, 2025Nothing more than CRAP.
- Sean MurphyAugust 9, 2025Borderline is absolutely insane. It isn't like most movies that Hollywood puts out. To me this is what movie making is all about. Risk and trust. I could nit pick this movie all day but it wouldn't change my recommendation. Samara Weaving just knows how to make entertaining films. Ray Nicholson is simply awesome in every scene. Alba Baptista has a moment to shine for sure and the reamining cast fills in the gaps very well. Eric Dane is just Mr. Reliable as always. Props to writer/director Jimmy Warden and the team that backed his vision. I could certainly see Hollywood brass getting their fingers all over this and F#$%ing it up as they so often do. If you like movies in general, especially original stories, give Borderline a watch. Fair warning, it's F*$#&ing nuts. Just have fun, like you are supposed to.
- LordDeTracyJune 27, 2025Weird af
- Poulsen80June 14, 2025This movie surprised us. Fun, violent, a bit silly, but it all blends together in a almost perfect mix. The movie captures mental illness, is it a bit exaggerated, yes, but it does it to be clear about what is going on, and why people are making the choices they make. The movie knew what it could bring to the table 94min and nothing more. If your open for something different, then this is the movie for you.
- Marian IulianJune 7, 2025I would say stupid movie😅
- cultfilmlikerJune 3, 2025Everyone loves to watch Samara smoke cigs! Terrific cinematography. The music video scenes could have been shorter lol especially the one with the dagger “Robert Smith from The Cure” made me guffaw. Other than that, the parts with the foreign woman were pretty funny (for the most part) A cop irl would have shot that little girl for laughing at him …and then the one time a cop should pull their gun, he doesn’t! lmao Pearl ruined endings like this lol Mia & Ti just nailed it so hard Added to 2025 Ranked
- romandini3May 4, 2025Great premise that is hindered by some awfully prolongated scenes that add absolutely nothing to the film. Nicholson is trying to find his inner father and replicate his insane state of mind that is fully on display in The Shining. Sometimes I believe him but those moments are quite rare and you pretty much see most of them in the trailer. There is a lot of "Marvel-type" writing here and trying to create a scene purely out of half-assed whacky facial expressions that I just despise. BUT there is some fun to be had.
- Splitvision89April 27, 2025Cool premise for a movie, but the execution is terrible. The main antagonist is just an awful actor
