- Dellvon C. FordMay 7, 2025If there was ever a perfect movie about the conditions and situations of black men within all the legitimate age groups of dating in the arena of today's modern women.....this is it HANDS DOWN !!!...The fact that it's harmonious blend of intellectual and hood comedy is unmatched even to this day and will always be relevant goes without saying. The casting was perfection...the storyline was perfection....the improv was superb....The black women were fantastic and timeless. There are a few absolute LEGENDS in this one...The acting was extremely consumable....and the laughs were perfectly placed. As a guy of any race the subject matter had to hit home...I mean coooooome on. In this one, even the soundtrack was super dope for that era of R and B...New Jack and Soul....If you're looking for solid laughs....relatable content as a guy....from a guys perspective.....and you have time to kick back with a few of the boys...Grab some sandwiches and some beverages cause this one is gonna hold you...Just Look at the cast.....how could this miss.

- Jacob O’NealJune 1, 2025I hadn’t watched this since the 90’s till now. I forgot how raunchy, funny and surprising sweet and romantic it was. Eddie Murphy, Robin Givens, Martin Lawrence, Halle Berry, David Allen Grier, Grace Jones, Eartha Kitt, John Witherspoon and Chris Rock star in this movie about a player who learns about love when being played by his female equal. This movie was fun, sexy and very funny in parts. Givens did amazing as the tough as nails executive female player. Berry is great as the sweet and adorable girl he should be with. The best friends played by Lawerence and Grier were hilarious, and when Witherspoon showed up, I dare you not to laugh. Rumor has it that Eddie Murphy made the studio add a couple days to shooting and insisted on bringing in Witherspoon for an improvised scene. His instincts were dead on. Reginald Hudlin did a great job directing this movie. He played the comedy well without sacrificing the romance of the story. This is one of the lesser remembered Murphy movies, but it deserves more. Give it a shots. You won’t be disappointed.
