A blackmailing doctor is shot and stumbles into the street and is promptly run over by a taxicab. This gives the police all the suspects they can sift through: the doctor's girlfriend. the girlfriend's boyfriend, the taxicab driver, a sneak thief, a doorman, a gangster, and an elderly patient of the doctor.
