- CallumJune 6, 2026⭐⭐⭐½ – Birds of Prey – Colourful chaos with a wicked grin. Birds of Prey is one of those comic-book movies that never stops moving. It's loud, colourful, candy-coated, hyperviolent, and packed with enough energy to power a small city. From start to finish, it throws ideas, jokes, action sequences, and visual flair at the screen with complete confidence. The film lives and dies on Harley Quinn, and thankfully Margot Robbie absolutely nails it. She's funny, unpredictable, reckless, and endlessly entertaining to watch. Without her performance, a lot of the movie's stranger moments wouldn't work nearly as well. Instead, she carries the entire thing on sheer charisma and attitude. What I enjoyed most is that the film never takes itself too seriously. It knows exactly what sort of comic-book world it exists in and embraces the absurdity. The action scenes are creative, the visual style is vibrant, and there are enough memorable moments to keep things entertaining even when the plot itself is fairly straightforward. That's probably the film's biggest weakness. The story does its job, but it's rarely the reason you're watching. You're far more likely to remember Harley's antics, a particular fight scene, or one of the film's visual gags than the details of the actual narrative. Still, as superhero films go, this is a genuinely fun watch. It's stylish, fast-paced, and willing to be a little weird in ways many comic-book movies avoid. Not every joke lands and not every idea works, but enough of them do to make it an enjoyable ride. 🍬 A packet of sour lollies — bright, chaotic, occasionally overwhelming, but hard not to enjoy once you start.
- ZokkiieMarch 17, 2026Kind of all over the place, but not in a totally bad way. It has personality and doesn’t feel generic, which counts for something, but it also struggles to stay consistent. Some scenes hit really well, others just drift by without much impact. It’s fun in short bursts, just a bit uneven overall.
- gmrxboxOctober 21, 2024Can’t say enough good things about this movie. Okay, yes, it’s a little long but has some really incredible action scenes with hilarious, fantastic choices I’ve never seen before, and some truly terrifying villain scenes. I relate to Margot Robbie lusting after a greasy breakfast sandwich in my soul. Bonus points for more queer representation for PRIDE month. Still disappointed that it was snubbed at the Oscars. Did you see that costume design?!
