- DoowangleJune 29, 2025Will always love Bill Burr as a standup, think he is one of the best to ever do it. His style, his ability to win over even the most hostile of crowds, his delivery, voices, storytelling, all 10/10. I can’t tell if he has been in LA a bit too long now or if it’s just his contrarian instincts, but his “voice” was quite a bit more…LA politically, which in turn had some of the material sounding less novel, since most comedians are coming from that POV. This was my least favorite of his specials, but like pizza or a BJ, even when it’s a little off…it’s still pretty damn good!
- Tyler SMarch 14, 2025Bill has been my favorite living comic for over a decade, every new special is an event for me. Growing up I found my step dads cassette tapes of Carlin then later his CDs and it shaped a lot of my views on life. Bill is the only other comic to leave that same impact on me, providing lots of laughs and also insight into how ridiculous most peoples belief systems are. Drop Dead Years is hilarious and also Bills most introspective special yet, opening up about the trauma of his past and his current life as a father and husband. Never losing his edge there's a lot of material here that had me howling, at an hour and 8 mins I actually wanted more, I could've watched a 3 hour special with a smile on my face. I was lucky enough to see him in Toronto a few years ago, I hope he comes back, if he does I'll have my tickets in a heart beat. If your a fan of Bills it's safe to say this is a must watch. 👍👍 9/10
