Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Ratings & Reviews
- M08YOctober 23, 2025Studio mismanagement was the real villain in this movie. The first two thirds of BvS is genuinely great (The directors cut of course). The conspiracy to set Batman and Superman against each other was handled really carefully and patiently. The more attention you pay, the more you see and I love that. The theatrical version of BvS cuts down massively on the setup which results in a disaster. Cutting down the best part of your movie is not a recipe for success. Another recipe for failure is to try and do 5 movies in 1. Trying to rush to Justice League truly was DCs undoing. The casting was also great, I even liked Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. Regrettably the film completely devolves in the third act. We go from a smart and patient building of conflict to an overblown CGI nightmare via baffling character decisions and even worse creative decisions. Trust me on this one - the ending is horrible. Honestly, you can have any opinion on this film and it's probably justified. I choose to love all the build up and just ignore the nightmarish finale. The audio and visuals are overall incredible. The IMAX scenes look phenominal but the dusty/sandy scenes at the start of the film have WAY too much grain, it's distracting. The audio is solid all the way through.
- KizOctober 8, 2025This is a pretty bad movie. Weak plot, spends way too much time establishing context and not enough time showing cool superhero stuff. I remember how hyped up this was, but the pay off is a slow lackluster fight between the two of them where they kiss and makeup, suddenly become besties, and fight a monster together. The best thing about this movie is Ben Affleck doing a fantastic job at Bruce Wayne. It's a shame we never got to see him shine in his own movie. Snyder just wanted to speedrun his justice league story and never gave us a chance to fall in love with the characters, giving us a messy and pointless movie that ultimately did nothing for the franchise.
- ricomckeeAugust 17, 2025Great comic book fun pitting two hero’s against each other… The movie is fun and has dynamic action sequences and introduces Wonder Woman to the DCU! It is a winner winner…except- worst casting ever for Lex Luther. really! Needed more Wonder Woman time and Ben Affleck could really try giving an authentic performance and not phoning it in. But it is rewatchable and that is key for a successful movie in my opinion.
- Kugen1942August 10, 2025A low point in Zack Snyder’s DC Universe which could have been an amazing platform to blitz through the Justice League ARC.But the stakes was too low and the moment in the title of the movie just fell flat
- bogometerMay 23, 2025It is long but still one of the greatest stories to come out of the DCU. Love the battle scenes.
- Scott SmithApril 12, 2025This movie got a lot of hate and negative reviews, but I really enjoyed it. It set up the excellent Snyder Cut of the Justice League, and it introduced Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. The fight scenes between Batman and Superman, as well as the ending with Doomsday are top notch. I will always love this film.
- Spencer MBJuly 30, 2025Borderline unwatchable at times and awkwardly paced.
- ColeJuly 30, 2025Yes, the Martha scene is actually really good…
- matthie444July 5, 2025Daughter and I enjoyed watching the movie together.
- JameslikesmoviesJuly 24, 2025Bruh I fell asleep watching it the first time o watched this
- Richard ThorntonJuly 22, 2025For someone like me who always wanted to see these comic book heroes taken seriously and placed in a world that resembled the complexity of our own I got a huge kick out of it. Some may think it’s too self serious or dark but god help me I really dig it.
- Nathan MagretaJuly 22, 2025This movie is meant to make money and only money. They Saw home good Jesse Eisenberg was an Mark Zuckerberg and just added him to DC, and had a miscasted batman. However, it does have some great action, great plot, (Just didn't execute it well), and a great Henry cavil
- tellumMay 29, 2025“Take a bucket of piss and call it Grandmas Sweet Tea.” That is an actual quote from this movie, and perfectly describes how fanboys rationalize liking it.
- LongLiveTheBurgerKingJuly 16, 2025Has good moments, but didn’t know how to end
- Magnus CarlbaumMarch 21, 2025When you can fit Marvels complete multiverse in the logical loopholes - then maybe the script wasn't ready cooking in the oven. Half baked. Bordering on moronic.
