Toujours aussi fan de whisky, Willie Soke et son petit sidekick Marcus sont de retour dans les rues de Chicago la veille de Noël pour faire la charité. Mais cette année Willie va voir sa mère débarquer...
- Manuel Frangis17 mars 2025I just watched Bad Santa 2, and I would give it a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars. If you liked the first one, this delivers more of the same dark humor, bad decisions, and over the top moments that make these movies so fun. It is crude, raunchy, and completely unfiltered, but that is exactly why it works. Billy Bob Thornton is back as Willie, and he is just as miserable, foul mouthed, and hilarious as ever. His character is a total mess, but that is what makes the movie entertaining. He fully embraces the role, making every scene feel raw and unpredictable. His interactions with the returning characters keep things moving, and the addition of his mother, played by Kathy Bates, adds another layer of chaos. She fits right in with the mean spirited humor and delivers some of the funniest moments in the movie. The jokes hit hard, and while some of them are definitely not for everyone, if you are into this kind of humor, you will be laughing the whole time. The movie does not try to be anything it is not. It leans into the crude humor and dysfunctional relationships while still managing to have a little bit of heart buried underneath all the insanity. It never forces sentimentality, but there are a few moments where you actually feel something for these characters, even if they are completely messed up. The chemistry between the cast is one of the strongest parts of the movie. Tony Cox returns as Marcus, and his banter with Willie is just as sharp as ever. Their love hate relationship is filled with some of the best insults and back and forth exchanges in the film. Brett Kelly is also back as Thurman, and while his character is still sweet and clueless, there is a little more depth to him this time around. His interactions with Willie bring some of the few emotional moments in the movie, but in a way that still keeps things funny. Kathy Bates as Willie’s mother is one of the best additions to the cast. She is just as crude and ruthless as Willie, if not worse. Her presence adds a new dynamic that makes the movie even more chaotic. She brings a level of unpredictability that keeps things interesting, making sure there is never a dull moment when she is on screen. The pacing is solid, keeping things moving without dragging. There are plenty of ridiculous situations that keep the humor going, and even though some scenes feel a little familiar, they still work. The movie knows exactly what it wants to be, and it does not waste time trying to appeal to everyone. It is a comedy that fully embraces its dark humor and lets the characters be as awful as possible in the funniest way. One of the few things that holds it back from being perfect is that it does not feel as fresh as the first movie. Some parts feel like they are repeating the same formula, and while it still works, it does not have the same shock value that made the original stand out. That being said, it still manages to be hilarious and entertaining in its own way. Bad Santa 2 is not for the easily offended, but if you love dark comedies, it is an easy recommendation. It is crude, mean spirited, and completely unapologetic, which is exactly what makes it work so well. It may not be as groundbreaking as the first, but it is still a fun watch during the holidays or any time you need an inappropriate comedy. I had a great time with it, and it is definitely a movie I would watch again.
- ርልዪረ18 décembre 2025Bad Santa 2 is definitely not as good as the original in fact the first time I watched it I really disliked it it was not funny, over the top with the crude humor and Billy Bob Thornton seemed like he didn't want to be in the movie like he didn't commit to the role this time around but with a second viewing I was wrong he was decent as Willie Soke not as good as in the original of course in that he was hilarious and you couldn't help but laugh at every filthy word that came out of his mouth. They also introduce Willie's mother in this who is played by Kathy Bates and she was pretty good in this actually but the best thing about this movie in my opinion was Thurman Merman he was just as funny as ever to me and he talked more which is good that's what I wanted to see because in the first one it took him awhile to say anything I mean it still was good and when he did talk it was funny but here it seems like they developed his character a bit more. This is pretty much the same thing as the first one except it's a charity this time and he reluctantly works with his mother who he hates. If you're a fan of the original I'd say check it out you won't be disappointed it's a funny sequel and it definitely delivers.
- jackmeat22 août 2025My quick rating - 5.7/10. I had only seen bits and pieces, so I may as well catch it fully (while I am working lol). I would say it is a long drop from the first one, but still a funny flick that seems to try really hard to achieve what the original did. It doesn't quite make it.
