I've been a longtime fan of Marc Maron. So it was fun to get this glimpse into his daily life. This movie is about his stand-up comedy career, and his popular "WTF" podcast (he was an early pioneer of the format). It just so happened that during the filming of this his partner, filmmaker Lynn Shelton, died suddenly from a blood disease...and then the COVID pandemic hit. The movie then became about Marc's grief process and how he continued to work through it, and deal with the COVID pandemic at the same time. You could really feel Marc's grief, anxiety, and unraveling during this period. It's an honest, tender, and often funny look at a guy who's just doing his best to get by...despite life's curveballs. It only made me appreciate Marc even more as a comedian and actor after seeing this. A very well done documentary.
