Razorbitz reviewedJanuary 10, 2025 An odd mockbuster due to the history behind it that is more interesting than the movie itself. There is fun to be had here, but an enjoyable opening and ending cannot help the dusty filler between. The titular Ape is on screen too little, and when it dares to show it wreaks carnage with the same enthusiasm of a toddler on benadryl. The Ape itself is an abomination for two pointed reasons that viewers will not miss, but the novelty wears off fast, and the less said about the human drama the better. Could be fun for a bad movie night with friends, but even that might be a stretch--skipping through for the highlights is about all one can do to suck any enjoyment out of this limp affair.
