- Lord_Tulkas29 mei 2025I don't understand why it seems so hard to make a decent horror movie... this movie has a good enough premise but is ruined by awful acting by pretty much the entire cast, worst script, terrible directing, and totally illogical sequences... like, in one take the girl is being shaked by "the ghost" and in the immediate next scene she appears as nothing happens, she looks totally calmed... How the hell did no one in the entire crew said "hey, this doesn't make any sense"? And there's SEVERAL examples like that in the movie... I'm not saying I could direct a good horror movie, I'm just saying there are things that anyone can see they don't add up... Well, at least is not as bad as Virus, another Sutherland "great" horror movie... 🙄
- jackmeat31 mei 2025My quick rating - 5.7/10. I found the story in this extremely well done. It does end up bordering on the "couldn't happen" spectrum when the mystery unfolds, and I think a bit of work fixing that would've upped my like for this. Still, some great performances are displayed in a pretty chilling flick that alluded me for this long. Surprised IMDB is so low (5.1), I thought my score might actually be a bit harsh. The story itself focuses on a curse that is cast onto a man (Sutherland) back last century, and the majority of the film involves the evil that is then haunting his family. I liked the camera work that was used to show the ghost sort of taking in its surroundings in a creative way as well. Overall, worth the watch for sure. Even sneaks in an important life message.
