The characters we met a little more than a decade ago return to East Great Falls for their high school reunion. In one long-overdue weekend, they will discover what has changed, who hasn’t, and that time and distance can’t break the bonds of friendship.

A true comedy. I wanted to see this movie again. We don't see many movies like this anymore after 2017.

I loved the original. I liked the sequel. Somehow I had never seen this one. If you loved American Pie, you will love American Reunion.

⭐⭐⭐ — American Reunion — Catching Up Without Moving Forward American Reunion is powered almost entirely by nostalgia, and for a while, that’s more than enough. Seeing the original cast back together genuinely feels like bumping into old friends you haven’t seen in years. The chemistry is still there, and everyone slips back into their roles with an ease that makes the early scenes especially enjoyable. As a reunion tour, it absolutely works. Stifler, in particular, is right on form. He’s still the loud, abrasive, unapologetic chaos engine of the group, and many of the film’s biggest laughs come directly from him. What works surprisingly well is that the film lets us see cracks in that persona — hints that even Stifler isn’t immune to time, disappointment, and the creeping pressure of adulthood. Those moments give him more depth than expected. Where the film stumbles is in how safe it feels. While it gestures toward themes of maturity, change, and accepting where life takes you, it never really digs into them with any bite. The emotional beats land softly, and the story often feels content to remind you of what you once loved rather than show you something new worth loving now. It’s pleasant, but rarely bold. As a final check-in with these characters, American Reunion is fine — warm, familiar, and occasionally funny. It just doesn’t have the spark, relevance, or sharpness to elevate it beyond “nice to see you again.” 🥃 Pairing: A mid-strength beer at a high school reunion — comforting, familiar, enjoyable enough… but you probably won’t stay out late.
