- Nicholas FlorioDecember 30, 2025What a sad movie. I don't see the point of all the suffering. It was to what end? These hippy-types are not so different than the far-left extremists of today. The only difference is that as the world has become more politically correct and progressive, as they wanted back then. The whiny leftists of today have to make the Western world seem more unfair than it is so that they have something to scream over.

Or at least it seems that way (early on she has a great confrontation where she lets her acting muscles play), but unfortunately she has to take a back seat to Ewans character taking center stage later on. Him and Dakota Fannings relationship (also other actress playing his daughter) is elemental for this movie.
