This is a great crime story. Something I stumbled on, having missed it first time around, I should have known that a movie starring Denzel was going to be good, but this is right up there with the Godfather for crime bos movies.

American Gangster is a 2007 made drama/crime movie directed by Ridley Scott and stars Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe, RZA, Cuba Gooding Jr, Norman Reedus and many others. The movie tells you about Frank Lucas who rise after his loyal boss gets an heart attack. Richie Roberts attempts to seize his drug empire. Everything gets tense by the minute. Not gonna spoil the plot ending, but this is a masterpiece. It's tough wannabe Casino/Scarface/Goodfellas/The Godfather but it still is worthy to watch again.
