“Aftershock” thrusts us into a barren post-apocalyptic world where good clashes with evil, with the added twist of an innocent alien caught in the middle. The plot feels thin, and the action sequences, where endless waves of gun-toting bad guys fall easily, are more amusing than intense. The lack of depth and over-the-top battles leave the film feeling unintentionally comedic rather than thrilling. While it tries to deliver on its premise, it ultimately fails to create a compelling post-apocalyptic showdown.
