Aap Jaisa Koi Ratings & Reviews

The second act conflict completely derailed the vibes for me. I knew it was coming and I know that’s part of the storyline and the point the film is trying to make, but it made R. Madhavan’s character so unlikable, and I just couldn’t get over it. Sure, he goes through his arc and all that, but I just couldn’t get over it. I was actively rooting against the couple. She was way out of his league and he had that attitude? Boy, don’t piss me off. For what it’s worth though, I thought the first half, where the characters fall in love, was pretty cute. Felt like a nice, mature love story, and well acted by our two leads.

This Indian romantic drama has an interesting premise but struggles with execution.
The Hollywood Reporter
Rahul Desai
Beyond the performative premise of a small-minded man courting a free-thinking woman, the cross-cultural romcom fails to retain the wit, narrative scale and acting sparkle that mark this genre.

Aap Jaisa Koi is decent enough viewing in its best moments. But with greater depth and keener characterisation, it might have evolved into something far more substantial.

Aap Jaisa Koi, on Netflix, is stupid and nonsensical and leaves you feeling rather frustrated and incensed.
Digital Mafia Talkies
Pramit Chatterjee
It's like an aesthetically pleasing sledgehammer being flung in the face of male chauvinism and patriarchy in the hopes that it'll make love a two-way street again.
