- RyezooFebruary 20, 2025This is a marvel for cinema. Extremely impressive for this being from 1902. I had the luxury of watching the hand colored version that was scored from the band Air. It's fascinating that each shot was from far away and took place from a different set. The whole experience is quite trippy and great effects in terms of disappearing aliens. If your a cinephile this is an absolute must to see and appreciate.

- VarunOctober 19, 2024Such a wild experience to watch a sci-fi film from 122 years ago. The backgrounds were beautifully painted and smartly laid out, and the various tricks used were very creative. The restoration of this film is simply amazing. It’s cool to see how the alien faces are similar to present day popular depictions. I like how it pokes fun at society’s impulse to engage in and celebrate colonisation. I wish I could see the reaction of the audience back then, I can’t imagine how fantastic it must have felt. Cinema truly is a magical art form.
