Monkey Review!!September 4, 2025A Killer in the House is a film that, despite its apparent low-budget production, features a standout performance by the actor who portrays the antagonist. This actor’s portrayal of a disturbed individual is remarkably convincing, effectively capturing the chilling essence of a psychopath. His performance elevates the film beyond what one might expect from a project that, at times, feels more like a student film. TLDR -> Maybe it’s worth a watch, but most likely a pass on this film. While the supporting cast is largely forgettable, the villain's acting skills are undeniably the film’s strongest asset, carrying a narrative that otherwise struggles to be compelling. The film, however, fails to distinguish itself from other, higher-budget thrillers that explore similar themes of male entitlement, narcissism, and violent obsession with a woman. The storyline offers little that is new or surprising, following a predictable path toward a final confrontation. The lack of originality makes it difficult to fully invest in the plot, reducing the viewing experience to simply waiting for the inevitable climax. Even with the compelling performance from the lead villain, the film is a "maybe" at best. It is neither terrible nor great, and while it may appeal to viewers seeking a lesser-known thriller, it is unlikely to satisfy a true horror or slasher fan looking for a truly engaging or original story.
