Wow, this hit far too close too home. Let, me start by saying everyone with kids needs to watch this with their kids. My sister and I were bullied relentlessly and mercilessly, name calling, taunts, threats, etc. They called us "Moose." I hated that. Now all these years later at almost fifty, every time I hear "moose" or mousse" I'm right back in that high school hallway being humiliated, beaten down, insulted. I had some classmates tell me my parents should've aborted me, yes, they were very cruel with their words and actions.. Sis and I endured horrible behaviors, verbal and non verbal. One of my bullies physically assaulted me the Summer before eighth grade. In high school, she completely terrorized me. Also in high school, the bullying evolved and got worse. It moved from the hallways, to the bus, to public places, including church. No body in charge would speak up. They made no attempt to do anything. Eventually we quit going to church and during my sophomore year, I spent half that year on homebound, that's a little bit like home school, but different. When I returned for my junior year, not much had changed. I was still bullied and threatened psychologically, mentally, physically, and otherwise. That whole experience altered how my sister and I view the world. Trust is hard for us. I'm socially awkward and feel socially awkward. That entire experience gave me a bright idea.... I will gladly jump on any anti-bulling platform I can find. We have to stop the bullies. Our schools and public places are becoming frightening places for some of our youngsters. Bullying can lead to suicide or worse. If you are a bully, just know that you are pathetic, weak, cruel, and need help. Please seek it. Bullying is wrong.
