- CallumMay 23, 2026⭐⭐½ – A Cinderella Story: If the Shoe Fits – Fairy-tale fluff with too many distractions. Sofia Carson does a good job of carrying this film and brings enough charm to make the Cinderella angle work. Jennifer Tilly was also surprisingly fun here — especially considering the last thing I’d really watched her in was Chucky. This is… a very different energy from that. The biggest issue for me was the step-sisters. I know they’re supposed to be irritating, but instead of being entertainingly awful they mostly just became exhausting. Every time they appeared, my interest dropped a notch. And honestly, I’m not even sure I can say I fully watched this movie. It had that Hallmark/Lifetime musical vibe where you already know exactly what’s happening at every point, so it became background viewing while I was on my phone, reading a book, vacuuming, and doing basically anything else nearby. Normally that sort of easy-watch predictability can actually be a positive. Here, though, it made the film feel disposable rather than comforting. It’s colourful enough, harmless enough, and occasionally charming, but it never really demanded attention or gave much reason to stay fully engaged. 🍹 A watered-down pink mocktail — sweet, easy enough to sip, but mostly forgotten once you’ve wandered off to do something else.
