- kl_rs_December 13, 2025Out of all the remakes of Dickens ultimate tale of redemption I personally believe Scott's is the best followed by Sims 1951. As a fellow accountant I try not to follow Scrouge way through life and try to help if possible. Merry Christmas!!!

I still love the early versions for the memories they evoke, but this completely nails everything just right. The pathos, the resilience of the people, the near-total hopelessness of some others. And THEN the ecstatic joy of Scrooge when he realizes he has another chance. Daniel Defoe was right- redemption from sin is greater than redemption from affliction. Please enjoy!

- rebeccacervantes110October 20, 2025Love this movie and the message of redemption in it! George C. Scott masterfully portrayed Ebenezer Scrooge as only he could . It doesn’t have to be the holidays to appreciate this message. When his senses return to him he expresses pure joy in the end by jumping on his bed. Absolutely priceless. Then, he is reconciled to his nephew and meets his wife as well. No one can top this.
