Directed by Federico FelliniGuido Anselmi, a film director, finds himself creatively barren at the peak of his career. Urged by his doctors to rest, Anselmi heads for a luxurious resort, but a sorry group gathers—his producer, staff, actors, wife, mistress, and relatives—each one begging him to get on with the show. In retreat from their dependency, he fantasizes about past women and dreams of his childhood.

- PoetofCinemaOctober 13, 20258&1/2 is one of the best films I have watched thus far and it is directed by one of my favorite film directors Federico Fellini. He also directed La Strada which is a movie I adored. I will soon someday watch La Dolce Vita, another film by him. This film is a surrealist masterpiece and it dazzled me of how the cinematography and the protagonist and everything else was. Just overall amazing: 9/10 movie. God bless Federico Fellini!
- cultfilmlikerApril 17, 2025“Who told you we come into this world to be happy?” Incredibly inventive. Wildly meta. One of the best directed films ever. Lovely acting. Beautiful cinematography. The sets and costumes are breathtaking. Just wonderful all-around. So self-Indulgent it’s masturbatory, as it has the right to be. Very congratulatory and is unfortunately correct in its frankness. Even though the entire film is metaphors lol Love that one of the dance scenes starts just like the Pulp Fiction dance scene lol Italians talk so fast. Even the kids were on coke in the 60’s! Jk they just enjoy life Cigarette in the steam room is hilarious *David Lynch as Gordon Cole voice* IT SAYS A WHOLE LOT. AND NOTHING Already excited for a rewatch Note: Would be way too much on shrooms. I wonder if Synecdoche, New York would be a similar experience
