- LivewireAdmin2025年8月11日Probably my first time watching since 2002 lol Shannyn Sossamon and Josh Hartnett had great chemistry. Juvenile humor abounds and I can definitely see the comedic influences of the time seeping into this (Meet the Parents, American Pie). It was interesting watching this as an adult compared to the 14-year old I would have been at the time. The film kind of glosses over a traumatic event near the climax of the film that I feel like in today's world would spark a lot more discussion. Especially in something like a raunchy, R-rated comedy. I'm sure 14-year old me didn't see it for what it was at the time but not really any fault of my own as I said, the film doesn't really address it either. In the end, this is still just an okay comedy, nothing here that would have allowed it to stand the test of time. Hartnett already had some big roles under his belt at this point but Sossamon never seemed to find that one role that would have catapulted her to movie star status. Which is a shame because I always enjoyed her whenever she would pop up in a role.
