Yes, the concept is problematic and the fat jokes/bits are uncomfortable -- they should be. But the transformation that occurs is not just a physical one. The characters learn and grow more than in most romantic comedies. Don't go into this one for the humor. As stated, some of it is cringe, but there are a few funny moments (like the police station scene). Although it is sold as a romcom, it ultimately is more of a drama with splashes of both romance and comedy. Kim A-joong is a talented actress. Even when swallowed by the fat suit, she manages to connect with us through facial expressions and her voice. Her acting style is rather natural, and I loved the scenes of her enjoying her new body. I could feel her astonishment through the screen (even though we both know that in reality that is her real body). The songs and concert performances were a lot of fun as well. I was surprised that the film featured several popular American songs sung in English -- that was a treat. Don't let the 200 pounds worth of criticism keep you away from this one. It may start out ugly, but it's a beauty.
