- Adam Abaza10 février 2026The film is powerful because it presents slavery in a raw and painful way, without embellishment or downplaying. The suffering isn't just physical, but psychological and human, evident in the characters' expressions and their silence before they even speak. Chiwetel Ejiofor's performance is incredibly moving, supported by strong performances, especially from Michael Fassbender and Lupita Nyong'o. The direction is calm yet brutal, sometimes leaving the camera static to force you to confront the pain without escapism. The minimal music enhances the sense of suffering, making it feel real and immediate.
