- SandyOlson78February 14, 2026RIP Heath Ledger. It's a good movie. I liked the party scene and the iconic singing on the bleachers. I did this for Valentines Day, but because it has hate in the title, no one will know if it was because I was into Valentines or if it was because I wasn't... Is Julia Stiles related to Ryan Stiles?
- cultfilmlikerJanuary 22, 2026Idk shit about Shakespeare but being able to see parts of “The Taming of the Shrew” in this was fun Ridiculously good soundtrack JGL is a pathetic creep in this AND irl. Impressive!

- KGM SOSADecember 23, 2025I just rewatched 10 Things I Hate About You for the first time in 10+ years & my god, is it still exceptional!! The feel-good moments, both in the humour & the romance are contagious. I can’t stress how rarely a film has me doing a cheesy smile throughout; this movie gives me butterflies in my stomach & leaves me doing the smirk from the iconic Daniel Cormier smiling-at-phone meme. I don’t know where to begin. Firstly, Heath Ledger’s performance in this movie is electric. He is undeniably exceptional in his role, so believably playing the cold bad boy who, over the course of the film, gets softened by Kat as they triumph over their cynicism & become infatuated with each other. It’s very evident, even this early on into his tragically short career, that he would go on to become a superstar. Next, Julia Stiles was incredible; not only because she’s absolutely jaw-droppingly gorgeous, but her performance so elegantly captured the sassy, cynical “doesn’t give a shit” attitude of her character. She was the absolute best casting choice for her role. What was so great about both Julia & Heath is not just that they captured their cynicism so perfectly, but how they discreetly show the cracks in their characters personalities, leading to when they finally become optimistic & love-struck. It’s hard to describe, but there are many great actors who can portray a character’s traits brilliantly yet lack the ability to slowly develop as a character. Usually, these actors will play one side, then change upon the character’s development, but Julia & Heath do it so progressively throughout the runtime that it feels real. I don’t know if I make sense here, but hopefully I do. Larisa Oleynik was also great as Bianca. She was so sweet, ditsy & cute as a button. I’m unsure if she’s that great of an actress or just genuinely that adorable, it almost feels like she was actually that cute & just told to be herself LOL. Larry Miller as Dad, Andrew Keegan as Joey, Daryl Mitchell as Mr. Morgan & Allison Janney as Ms. Perky were all ICONIC as well! Larry & Allison were especially hilarious in their roles; I couldn’t help but laugh. Andrew played the effortlessly cool Fonzie-like aesthetic character that’s cliché in ’90s–’00s movies so well too. This movie has the same feel-good late-’90s to early-2000s nostalgia & aesthetic as movies like The Girl Next Door (2004), & I have a soft spot for all these types of movies. Although it’s not as raunchy as tGND, its aesthetic from visuals, fashion, lingo & music, is a time capsule to a time we all miss. This movie is a solid 10/10 for romantic comedy, high school early-2000s movies. Which you wouldn’t realise by this warm review, but I usually don’t even like romance movies. This one is just exceptional, & I can’t fight my feelings towards it. Bonus points for Kats sexy party dance & her feet always being visible LMAO
- michi.d5November 24, 2025great movie but wasn’t the greatest romance movie ive ever watched.
- CallumNovember 6, 2025⭐⭐⭐⭐ – 10 Things I Hate About You – Shakespeare in Sneakers 10 Things I Hate About You is one of those rare teen comedies that manages to be smart, funny, and endlessly rewatchable without ever losing its heart. A modern spin on Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, it trades 16th-century Verona for a late-90s high school, swapping swords for sarcasm and soliloquies for sharp one-liners. This was the breakout role that launched Heath Ledger from promising newcomer to Hollywood icon. His effortless charm, mischievous grin, and that unforgettable bleacher-serenade cemented him as the kind of leading man teenage audiences would never forget. Julia Stiles matches him perfectly, giving Kat a brittle wit and quiet vulnerability that made her more than just another movie rebel. And yes, it might also be one of Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s most likeable early turns. There are scenes here that have become film folklore: Kat flashing a teacher to save her crush, the paintball date that somehow makes getting splattered look romantic, and the chaotic rooftop dance that lands Ledger a concussion but earns him cinematic immortality. Beneath the laughs, though, it’s still a story about sisters, self-respect, and learning that love doesn’t mean changing who you are. It’s vibrant, clever, and impossibly quotable — a perfect bridge for introducing teens to Shakespeare without a single dusty page in sight. The only real misstep? Joey Donner, the walking embodiment of late-90s vapidness. But then again, every good comedy needs a fool. 🍷 Pairing: A glass of cherry soda — sweet, fizzy, and just rebellious enough to make you grin at how well it still holds up.
- MikeSeptember 21, 2025Not a bad movie from that time
- Leah DykemaSeptember 7, 2025It has an ok story and has some funny scenes, but it was heavily ruined with language and inappropriate gestures and words. I don’t appreciate movies filled with cussing and sexual content.
