I came with low expectations to this movie, but I enjoyed it more than I though I would.
It doesn't take itself to seriously, while maintaining a coherent plot.
It's good for both kids and adults.
Recommended!
I've got to admit that I'm not sure what the fuss is all about.
To be honest, I didn't watch the movie in a theatre, which I guess is mandatory in order to experience the movie as the director had intended, but, at least from my experience watching it at home, I didn't get see it as a masterpiece.
Yes, the story start rather original, but there's no real twist and things are a bit rushed, especially with Gossling's character developing proper alien communication in what seems like a few days.
All in all, it was OK.
It's not an easy task improving on your predecessor, but Shrek 2 manages that and then some.
A great movie, both for kids and grownups. We need more of these nowadays.
