On paper, it had all the ingredients of an exciting, futuristic adventure, and at times the show genuinely hints at that potential. Unfortunately, it struggled under the weight of a limited budget, which meant sparse special effects, repetitive action sequences, and worldbuilding that never quite reached the level its concept deserved. Dale Midkiff delivers a solid performance as Darien Lambert, and his advanced abilities and tech are intriguing, but the show’s episodic stories often feel too thin or predictable to fully engage. Without the resources to explore its sci-fi foundation in depth, Time Trax leans heavily on standard police-procedural beats. Though it had promise, the execution simply wasn’t strong enough to elevate it beyond a curiosity for genre fans.
