- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (out of 5) Gossip Girl – Secrets, scandals, and the golden age of guilty-pleasure television. “Gossip Girl” isn’t just a show about rich Manhattan teens — it’s the show that defined a generation of them. Set against the opulent backdrop of the Upper East Side, it follows a dazzlingly dysfunctional web of privilege, romance, betrayal, and ambition, narrated by the anonymous blogger who knows everyone’s secrets. The result is intoxicating television: stylish, witty, and endlessly watchable. This is a world where money replaces morality and where power games fill the gap left by parental guidance. The teens are messy, the adults are worse, and everyone’s motives are deliciously suspect. Yet beneath all the scheming, there’s a surprising humanity that keeps it grounded — fragile friendships, forbidden love, and the desperate need to belong in a world that already has everything. The reveal of Gossip Girl’s identity at the end might divide opinions (I’ll never tell), but it still fits the chaotic, self-obsessed energy of the series. Compared to the later reboot — where adults oddly target high-schoolers — this original version got it right. The drama stayed in the hands of those who created it. With its flawless casting, razor-sharp dialogue, and iconic fashion, Gossip Girl remains the ultimate indulgence: a glittering blend of excess and empathy that never truly went out of style. XOXO.
- (Kaelyn Montoya, Social Media Manager) It’s no secret that Gossip Girl became a pop culture staple for us younger millennials; we were HOOKED immediately by one of the most iconic teen drama pilots ever. (It’s not everyday a socialite from the Upper East Side is spotted at Grand Central Station after a mysterious boarding school trip… or is it?) Accompanied by great music, an unknown gossip columnist and the comforting voice of Kristen Bell, the show was set to be legendary from the get-go. The friendship between Blair and Serena is not something I would necessarily love in my own life but BOY did it give us messy, juicy drama especially during those first few seasons. I think part of what grounds Gossip Girl as a show is that anytime an “outsider” threatens or tries to “take down” any of the main characters, they put aside all their inner fighting to show up for each other, especially Blair - who also reminds us who the Queen B of the Upper East Side will always be. It’s a Fall comfort re-watch show for sure. Xoxo!
