The chemistry between Karl Urban’s gruff, guarded detective and Michael Ealy’s empathetic, near-human android partner became the heart of the show, elevating what could have been a standard procedural into something far more engaging. The world-building—a near-future society filled with clever tech, ethical dilemmas, and criminal innovation—felt rich with potential, hinting at storylines the series sadly never had the chance to explore. Its blend of action, humour, and thoughtful sci-fi themes kept me invested right up to its abrupt cancellation. Even though it only lasted one season, I still find myself returning to binge it from time to time, imagining what might have been if it had been given room to grow. Almost Human remains a short-lived gem with a lot of heart.
