Kim Yoon-seok gives one of the best performances of his career as a ethically compromised ex-cop turned pimp. unlike Hitchcock’s stylized and manufactured suspense, the Chaser is realistic. What makes it scary is the helplessness and anguish of the detective and the daughter when they learn what has happened.
