- Patrick Wai2026年9月28日Why did they call this movie Peppermint? Because the plot is so light and fluffy? This is about as straightforward as a revenge movie gets. Jennifer Garner goes from suburban soccer mom to Jason Bourne in five years, then starts working her way through the people responsible for murdering her family. There’s very little mystery about where any of this is going. The frustrating part is that they had the budget, the star and a perfectly workable premise. Why couldn’t they make a better movie around them? The villains are generic, some of the casting doesn’t quite work, and the dialogue could definitely have used another pass. Most importantly, the movie skips over what might have been the most interesting part: how exactly did this ordinary mother disappear for five years and turn herself into a one-woman special forces unit? That’s the origin story I wanted to see. Garner has done this sort of thing before, most notably as Elektra, and Peppermint sometimes feels like a grittier, costume-free vigilante origin movie. She’s convincing enough in the action scenes to keep the whole thing moving. And maybe that’s ultimately what the filmmakers wanted: an origin/revenge movie stripped down until it’s easy for almost anyone to watch. Don’t ask too many questions, don’t examine the logic too closely, and it’s perfectly entertaining. Nothing particularly memorable, but watchable and fun enough for what it is.
