たった60分で文明を荒廃させた最終戦争後の世界。残された人類は空や海、そして地を這う車輪の上に移動型の都市で創り出し、他の小さな都市を"捕食"することで資源や労働力を奪い生活している。"都市が都市を喰う"、弱肉強食の世界へと姿を変えたこの地上は、巨大移動都市"ロンドン"によって支配されようとしていた。他の都市を次々に飲み込み成長を続けるロンドンを前に、小さな都市と人々が逃げるようにして絶望的な日々を送る中、一人の少女が反撃へと動き出す。

    I actually enjoyed Mortal Engines more than I expected. It’s definitely not a perfect movie, and I can see why some people didn’t love it, but I thought it was a fun watch. The whole idea of cities driving around and hunting each other is just different. It kept me interested the whole time, and visually it looked really good. The action scenes were solid, and I never felt like I was waiting for something to happen. The story isn’t groundbreaking, and a few characters could’ve had a little more depth, but I don’t think every movie has to be some masterpiece to be enjoyable. Sometimes it’s just nice to watch something with a cool concept that doesn’t feel like the same superhero movie over and over.

    Still one of my all time favourites. The cgi on this goes nuts and I just love it. The absolute mass and size of the moving cities always gets me. And I LOVE ultra powerful weapons being used with awesome cgi. It's a bit silly, and over dramatic, but it's still a good movie.

    I love any movie that can show dystopian society and how it can overcome its way of life, want to give a shout out to Hera Hilmar I loved her in "See" and I'm glad to see that she was in this full feature film as well.

    Visually stunning with big ideas. Starts well but founders towards the end. The story is weak in parts and there is not really enough screen time for each character for us to care about them. Worth a watch but sadly misses the mark.

    Unbelievably bad movie. The story, the effects, the acting. Actually everything about this movie just feels so cold and uninspired and well, completely awful. Stay away from this one.

    As is so often the case with these movies, the really cool and promising lore gets pushed to the back, which really is a shame.

    Not a good film. However, I liked it anyway. The set pieces and world building are cool. Plot, character development, editing, cinematography, feels are all lacking.

    A Visual Marvel with a Flat Heart "Mortal Engines" is one of those movies where the concept and world-building are far more impressive than the story that unfolds within them. Visually, the film is stunning-massive mobile cities, post-apocalyptic landscapes, and detailed sets create a unique and fascinating world that immediately grabs your attention. The sheer creativity on display is worth applauding. Unfortunately, the plot doesn't match the visual spectacle. The story feels rushed, thinly developed, and filled with familiar tropes we've seen countless times before. Character arcs are shallow, emotional moments don't land as they should, and the pacing struggles, swinging between frantic action and dragging exposition. It's not a bad movie-there are flashes of real entertainment, especially if you enjoy grand visuals and imaginative settings-but "Mortal Engines" ultimately feels like a missed opportunity. With such a rich world to explore, it's disappointing that the narrative never reaches the same heights as its production design.
