監督:Steven Spielberg米国ニュー・イングランド地方、アミティの小さな海水浴場でひとりの少女が鮫に襲われ、命を落とす事故が。警察署長のブロディは次なる犠牲者が出ぬよう、遊泳禁止を決定しようとするが、海水浴客がいなくなって町が不況に陥ることを恐れた市長の反対で失敗に。すると、今度は少年が犠牲になってしまう。ブロディは意を決して鮫を退治しようと、海洋学者フーパーや鮫狩りの専門家クイントとボートに乗り込み、海に出る。
