Susan Pickett

Susan Pickett is an American visual effects producer. Born in Bronxville, New York, she has worked on more than twenty films, primarily in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
She began her career in visual effects in the mid-2000s, serving as a coordinator on films such as Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) and Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties (2006). Her early producing credits include Idiocracy (2006), for which she served as visual effects producer.
Pickett became more deeply involved in the Marvel franchise, working as a visual effects production manager on Iron Man (2008) and moving into the role of visual effects producer for Iron Man 2 (2010). Her work continued with The Avengers (2012), where she oversaw over 2,200 visual effects shots, coordinating contributions from ILM, Weta Digital, Fuel VFX, Luma Pictures, and others.
She collaborated closely with visual effects supervisor Stéphane Ceretti on Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), serving as VFX producer. Her partnership with Ceretti continued on subsequent projects, including Doctor Strange (2016), where she supported the visualisation of mind-bending realms such as the Mirror Dimension. In 2023, she produced the visual effects for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023), again working with Ceretti.
Throughout her career, Pickett has earned multiple nominations from her peers. She received a Visual Effects Society (VES) Award nomination for Iron Man 2 at the 9th VES Awards. She was also nominated for a VES Award for The Avengers at the 11th ceremony. Her work on Doctor Strange earned her a VES nomination for Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature. She was also nominated alongside Stéphane Ceretti, Alexis Wajsbrot, Guy Williams, and Daniel Sudick for the 2024 VES Award for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023).
