- PhysicalMedia4Life2 de agosto de 2026Mystic River has exceptional storytelling that has a lot of layers to it. Which is both very charcter & plot driven in equal measure. The acting from both Sean Penn & Tim Robbins are phenomenal. Both of there Oscar triumphs for this film, was very well deserved. This is one of those movies, that's very bleak & tragic in more ways than one. Mystic River is one of those movies that really tugs at the heart strings and doesn't let go. Your totally invested with the whole dynamic between the three former friends. All 3 of them have there own personal problems and are reunited, because of a tragic event that's taken place. This is just a very powerful film thematically and is a great character piece. Clint Eastwood directed the s**t out of this movie. Had this not come not come out the same year as my all time favourite film; The Lord Of The Rings The Return Of The King, then Mystic River would have won a lot more Oscars. Especially for best director & best picture. Overall Mystic River is a flawless movie in my mind. That really deserves a hell of a lot more recognition, than it currently does. My Personal Ratings for Mystic River is a 10/10 & ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
- ርልዪረ11 de febrero de 2025Master action star and director of definitive noir Clint Eastwood(Dirty Harry,The Mule,Rango's Spirit of the West metachar.) bagged the London Film Critics' Circle Award for Director of the Year 2004,National Society of Film Critics Award for Best Director 2004,Blue Ribbon Award for Best Foreign Film 2005,National Board of Review Award for Best Film2003 for this film and more. Adapted from Dennis Lehane's award-winning 2002 novel of the same title. The story's beginning with 3 friends as kids that eventually lead to some horrific circumstances as the they turned into adults will leave you in awe. A bit like 'Sleepers' but entirely dissimilar circumstances. A powerhouse cast from Marcia Gay Harden(The Mist 2007, Meet Joe Black), Laura Linney(Primal Fear, Congo), Emmy Rosum(The Phantom of the Opera), Laurence 'Morpheus' Fishburne(Assault on Precinct13, Apocalypse Now), to Tim Robbins crazed vampiric performance which got him an award. Not to mention Sean Penn as Jimmy Markum-An act so gripping --you're teary-eyed one second, then sympathetically angry the next. The mystique not only surrounds the previous star's characters but w/ the rest of the cast as well of whom further intensified the drama.--The somewhat funny but grim Savage bros. and aloof Brendan Harris' to name some. The 7-mile-long Massachusetts river along Boston's mouth in New England which earned its name from the Pequot tribe called Missi-tuk(large river) was adopted by the colonists to Mystic, is the best setting for 'Dirty Harry' for its gritty feel - Suited perfectly for the novel's world. The plot's so objectively believable -You'll say to yourself : "This really coulda' happened.."

- NotoriousEdge20 de septiembre de 2025An all star cast, Clint Eastwood directing with a murder mystery who done it. This film had all the ingredients to be a great movie, but it just isn’t. A plot that meanders around for 2/3rds of the movie. Dialogue that leaves a lot to be desired and actors repeatedly falling in and out of a Boston accent. Just does not deliver on really anything it should.
