- angeltread11 de mayo de 2026I’ve always loved the premise of this movie. I love the performances. I love the look. I love the stylistic flair. I enjoy the pacing. It’s spiritual and traumatic and existential and original. It’s rich and saturated, both in look and themes, its atmospheric and moody. It had a ton to love about it. And despite all that i have never truly loved it as a whole. You wait the whole movie for the payoffs to each characters plights, some are ok-ish resolutions and some not so much, and then they just sorta forgot William Baldwins conclusion. And yet I return to this movie every few years to drink in all the things that you can love. I just wish it could congeal into the pure awesome I've always wanted it to be. Still, as is, it’s a solid movie with a few shortcomings. Julia is delivering the goods here while looking absolutely immaculate. Kiefer and Kevin playing their characters to a T and looking cool as hell doing so. Oliver is giving us, but never annoyingly, a path of levity in all its heaviness. And then William is there too… I can say that about alot of William performances.

Sadly the movie is somewhat poorly executed and the acting is pretty bad and the dialogues are cheesy. The story is also majorly dissapointing at times. They had a few good ideas though, and the movie actually has some intense parts. But it doesn't last very long.
- PhysicalMedia4Life28 de julio de 2026A very compelling concept, with a very strong cast at the heart of it, that all give great performances both as a collective & individually. I love the whole tone & vibe of the movie and just how it's all lit, really does give it that atmosphere & sense of dread about it. Flatliners also has a lot of depth to it regarding its themes. However 🚨 SPOILER 🚨 as much as I love the characters! I would have chosen to kill off a couple more of them if I was directing it, instead of having all 5 of them make it out alive. Just to give it that unpredictability and to give it that real high stakes feel to it, that nobody is safe. Overall "Flatliners" is one of "Joel Schumachers" best works and is a film that is very enjoyable & watchable all the way through. My Ratings/Scores for Flatliners 1990 is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ & a 8.25/10
