Directed by Heidi KranzSince they met at the registry office many years ago and exchanged vows together, the two couples Lukas and Susanne and Johanna and Markus have had harmonious and happy marriages. But appearances are deceptive. Shortly after the 14th wedding anniversary, Susanne receives a surprise visit from the young bookseller Bettina, who explains without further ado that she is expecting a child from Lukas. A world collapses for Susanne. In order to distance herself from her husband, she flees to Amsterdam to live with the writer Jonathan Kluivert, whose book she is currently translating. When Markus also admits an affair to his wife Johanna, her marriage also falls into crisis. But unlike Susanne, Johanna sees her husband's missteps as an opportunity for their partnership, which has become routine over the years. Johanna even encourages her husband to look for a "tailor-made" lover on the Internet. But Markus is not interested in a permanent affair with another woman. It hits him all the harder when Johanna suddenly falls in love with the young lawyer Reinhard and Markus turns his back without further ado. Time flies, and after a year full of ups and downs, the quartet meets again on their wedding day.
