Dreamscape Ratings & Reviews
- JaredXIIIJuly 5, 2025[NO SPOILERS] A weird & wild 'Psy'-fi action-thriller! Both the superb psychedelic visual effects & the 'Fringe-Science-meets-The-Supernatural' storyline of Dreamscape are reminiscent of the film Altered States (1980) and-- IMO-- these 2 movies would make a excellent pairing for a double-feature. The acting is excellent and the plot moves along rather quickly. There are some really, really cool sets & practical effects in this movie that are just fantastic and alone, are a good enough reason to watch Dreamscape. I found myself engaged & entertained through the movie; Although, Dreamscape gets a bit goofy here & there along it's 100-Minute runtime (1h40mins), but it does so in a endearing and nostalgic way that doesn't become embarrassing or cringeworthy. All-in-All, I enjoyed Dreamscape and I'd say that it's a fun afternoon movie from the 80s that's suitable for the whole family. The PG-13 rating seems a little bit harsh to me, but I guess a couple of the "Nightmare" scenes could be considered "frightening to children".
- hamunah7February 28, 2025Cult classic. The effects are purely 80"s, but the plot is good.
