Methodical Aussie detective mystery sends Federal agent Aaron Falk (Eric Bana) back to his small town home to attend the funeral of a childhood friend who had allegedly killed his wife and child before taking his own life. When asked to look into the alleged killings, he ends up dredging up an unsolved murder from his childhood. I was completely engrossed by this. The story unfolds flipping back and forth between the two time periods. Present day Falk investigating his friend Luke’s alleged murder suicide, and young Falk and Luke in the days leading up to the death of their friend Ellie. Eric Bana was really good in this. Why isn’t he in more films, or bigger films? Watched this because my wife is reading the second book which she is really enjoying. I think she’s eagerly anticipating the sequel which is supposed to come out this year. This is fairly slow paced, but I’m always down for a decent mystery.
