Being in a Place: A Portrait of Margaret Tait
6.0
Drawing on a wealth of unseen archival material and unpublished notebooks, the film weaves a complex and personal portrait of Margaret’s life, from the perspective of a fellow artist sensitive to the potential Margaret envisaged for film as a poetic medium.

Although not a conventional biography, this poetic film employs excerpts from Margaret Tait's films, archival footage, and newly shot material to create an empathetic, lovingly structured glimpse into her artistic sensibility, intentionally (and effectively) blurring the distinction between her work and her influence on the many filmmakers who have followed in her footsteps.
