My quick rating - 5.6/10. No matter what they did, this remake would never pack the punch the original had. The reason being, it was a fresh concept then, and therefore an easily shockable audience. Still a decent sci-fi flick that doesn't go with high action and a load of effects, but just sticks with the story. Aliens arrive on Earth, and their first encounter will decide how the aliens proceed. Well, I think you know how humans would react and act accordingly. Keanu Reeves isn't a big stretch in his role here, being an alien in a human body. Somewhat perfect for the acting role really. The message in this one is simple and concise. I still enjoyed the movie for what it was, just not something that has recreated the sci-fi genre like this movie actually did in 1951.
