Just super gruesome and depressing. Left plenty of mystery but the depiction of the misery of either losing a child or losing a parent were both stirring in the worst way. I paused and looked away several times, squeamish. Given the production cast, I went in with big expectations after Talk to Me. "Bring Her Back" felt a bit like "Upstream Color" after "Talk To Me"/"Primer", to raise an analogy to Shane Carruth. The first movie is probably worse, explores less, is less ambitious, but it's tighter and more rewatchable. I came away from Bring Her Back wanting to watch Talk to Me.
