Better than I expected. Essentially wears its Insidious (2010) influence on its sleeve and I swear there might even be a little nod to Tarsem Singh's work like The Cell (2000) and The Fall (2006). It isn't anything you haven't seen before from both a story and scares perspective, but the the performances are all solid with an especially fun showing by Juno Rinaldi as the quirky protagonist's "assistant". The score and sound design don't necessarily stand out, but they never get in the way, softly supporting the many jump scares throughout. The breezy one hour forty-minute runtime is perfect for fans of this brand of supernatural horror.
