I’ve been extremely anticipating this and bummed that I’m ending up disappointed. I liked a lot of things and disliked just about as many. The pennywise scenes pale in comparison. Nothing is scary about seeing scenes with our characters as kids when you know they are alive as adults. These flash backs eat up a lot of time that wasn’t necessary. Not to mention, Pennywises victims almost feel as complete filler in the first half of the movie. Also the inclusion of having the younger cast in this took away from having the new cast of adults. Most of them are one note characters that, I guess, haven’t changed in 27 years. You’ve heard non stop how great Bill Hader is and I agree, absolutely the best part. Jessica Chastain + McCavoy were solid but nothing entirely too special. Another thing very noticeable to me was the score wasn’t anywhere near as good as part 1. I know I’m raging on this movie, but the only reason is because I’ve seen It 1 like four times and have it 5/5. This sadly doesn’t live up to the hype, but it still is an enjoyable but flawed journey.
