Like the latter Toho films that made Godzilla a superhero like figure, GxK The New Empire doesn’t take itself too seriously. The studio knows why we watch these films. The humans take a back seat for all out monster brawls that culminates in the biggest tag team match in kaiju history. It’s fun, it’s dumb, and I loved it!
