Five campers arrive in the mountains to examine some property they have bought, but are warned by Forest Ranger Roy McLean that a huge machete-wielding maniac has been terrorising the area. Ignoring the warnings, they set up camp, and start disappearing one by one.

This is one of those films that shows up on a lot of “under-seen slasher” lists. Ultimately, I was kind of disappointed by it though. If I had seen it back in the 80’s I could see holding it in higher regard, but watching it now it felt a little slow and little run-of-the-mill. Glad to finally cross off the watchlist, though. Certainly worth checking out for horror-slasher aficionados.
