The surprise of this film is the characters. SO many fun, creative new roles. I'm happy to see that over time, it has become a cult classic.
Does it go off the rails as far as the comedic elements? Yes. But that was their intent. Tobe Hooper was disappointed that, in his opinion, people didn't pick up on the dark humor in the original 1974 film. Maybe the overboard parody style of this installment was his revenge?
No other character in any TCM film beats Mosely's portrayal of Chop Top.
