The brilliance of Donald Pleasence cannot be understated in this cannibalistic crime thriller. I wish there was a series of films with him as DI Calhoun. What a fun character.
This also features some long and slow, yet beautiful, establishing shots that add to the unsettling dingy atmosphere. Not to mention the excellent practical effects. 'Mind the Doors!'
