The untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but who once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever.

How are people not talking enough about this movie? It’s freaking EPIC. The animation completely rules, so many cool scenes and the camera angles during the action scenes are dynamic and awesome. The characters are really well written, with Orion and D-16’s friendship being the best central focus of the film. The soundtrack is killing it. The pacing is perfect. The humour is fun. The designs and transformations of some of the characters were pretty cool. I really liked the depictions of both Iacon and the outer world. I think it also has a nice critique on how myths can shape people’s lives. I’ve only seen all the live action movies, haven’t watched the animated show so I’ve never been steeped in the lore of this franchise and I’m not particularly a big fan or anything, but this movie was exciting af and I badly want a sequel. I wish I had watched this in theatres in 3D. The story is a bit formulaic and I saw the plot twist coming from the very start although I think it’s meant to be obvious, but there’s real stakes in this film and the gravity of many situations especially early on in the story hit hard. It’s not perfect but I’m giving a 10 based on how much earnestness, energy, enjoyment and epicness this movie is packed with.
